Cameron appeals two-game ban
Mike Cameron drew a two-game suspension from Major League Baseball for making contact with an umpire during Saturday’s game in Atlanta and immediately appealed the ruling, a club spokesman said Tuesday.
Cameron’s suspension was scheduled to begin Tuesday night, when the Brewers begin a three-game series against the Rockies on Tuesday night at Miller Park. Because he appealed, he can continue to play until his case is heard.
MLB disciplinarian Bob Watson announced Cameron’s punishment, which included a two-game suspension plus a fine for “inappropriate conduct … which included making contact with Umpire Marvin Hudson.” The dispute came in the ninth inning of Milwaukee’s 3-0 win over the Braves on Saturday, after Cameron was called out on strikes.
