Former Brewers pitchers Mike Myers and Rick Helling were among the Players Association officials on hand for an annual morning meeting on Monday. New union chief Michael Weiner led the discussion, which will probably bump back the Brewers’ on-field activities today from the usual 9:30 a.m. local time to a bit after 10.
Last week, former Brewers infielder Tony Graffanino dropped by for a visit, looking like he could still hit the field with the rest of the guys. But while he has not filed retirement papers, Graffanino, 37, said his playing career was over.
When they do hit the fields today, the Brewers will have a double dose of fundamental drills. The schedule was set back a bit by rains throughout the day on Sunday, but it’s perfectly sunny today.
