Opening Day roster appears set

With right-hander Jeff Suppan on the disabled list and left-handers Chris Narveson and Manny Parra temporarily moving into relief roles because the Brewers don’t need a fifth starter until April 15, it appears that the team’s Opening Day roster is all set.

The Brewers do not have to set the roster until 2 p.m. CT on Sunday. Barring a last-minute injury, it should look like this for the first week-plus of the regular season:

Adam…
April 15?? My schedule tells me they don’t need #5 until Sunday, 4/18. Or…has Macha stated that he wants to give Gallardo an extra day between his 2nd and 3rd outings??
.
Response on Twitter, where I really enjoy “following” you would be appreciated ;-)

Do you tink we could trade Jody Gerut back to San Diego for Tony JR? Maybe throw in lots of $$$$$$$ ?

Yeah Tony Jr and Gerut deal biggest under the radar bust I’ve ever seen. Lets see trade a young prospect who hasn’t adjusted well to big league play and is struggling but under club control for a long time for an older more experienced player putting up the same numbers and no up side. Well if Gwynn Sr wants his son lets give him away. I think they owe us and should be required to take Suppan off our hands.

This is just my personal opinion. I think the Brewers would be well served to go with Chris Narveson as the fifth starter. Based on what I have seen he has had the best spring of the candidates for the fifth spot

Quit talking about Gwynn Jr.!! The guy is gone. Other than his name he’s done nothing to warrant so much talk of his greatness.

I agree with firemike, stop talking about Junior Gwynn…he’s gone and he’s got nothing to offer anyway. At least Gerut has some pop in his bat and can provide HR possibilities off the bench…Gwynn? Has less pop than his own pop.

Can’ t consider that trade a bust…just one scrub for another.
