Kintzler optioned out, Estrada coming up?

The Brewers optioned right-hander Brandon Kintzler to Triple-A Nashville after Tuesday’s win over the Braves but didn’t announce a corresponding move, and didn’t say who will start Game 3 of the series on Wednesday.

That’s probably because they need to clear a 40-man roster spot for a Minor Leaguer, and if that’s the case then right-hander Marco Estrada could be coming back to the Majors. In Spring Training, Estrada was one of the pitchers under consideration for this start, the first time the Brewers need a fifth starter, and he delivered two crisp outings in the Cactus League.

Perhaps the Brewers have another move in mind. Everybody will have to wait until Wednesday to be sure including Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez, who didn’t know himself on Tuesday night who would start for the Brewers the next day.
