Brewers beat Veras in arbitration
Agent Bryce Dixon has confirmed that the Brewers won their arbitration case with reliever Jose Veras, meaning Veras will earn an even $2 million in 2012 instead of the $2.375 million he’d requested.
Veras will probably prove the Brewers’ last major expense of a winter that saw the club’s payroll push above $100 million for the first time ever. Look to Brewers.com later today for more on the Veras case and the team’s record spending.
